Full Job Description

We are seeking a Hardware Development Engineer II to join our Power Electronics team. In this role, you will be a significant and autonomous contributor, solving difficult hardware engineering problems related to high-power electronics systems. You will design, develop, and validate power electronics boards from concept through production, working on 10KW+ high-voltage DC systems that push the boundaries of performance, reliability, and efficiency. This position requires an engineer who demonstrates strong technical depth in power electronics while also exhibiting the system-level thinking and influence characteristic of our most impactful contributors. Key job responsibilities • Design, develop, and test multi-layer power electronics board layouts for high-voltage DC systems (10KW+), from initial concept through volume production release. • Define and execute power electronics component architecture, including topology selection, component specification, and thermal management strategies. • Lead the development of test plans that validate designs against DO-160 and DO-274 standards, ensuring electromagnetic compatibility, environmental resilience, and functional safety. • Ensure designs meet appropriate IP (Ingress Protection) ratings for target deployment environments. • Apply system-level thinking to understand how power electronics subsystems integrate with and influence the broader product architecture. • Partner effectively with cross-functional peers, suppliers, and contract manufacturers to build and validate designs, driving alignment on technical trade-offs. • Deliver accurate time-based estimates for engineering tasks and manage design milestones through the product development lifecycle. • Create and maintain high-quality design documentation including schematics, specifications, analysis reports, and test results. • Contribute to design reviews, providing constructive technical feedback to teammates and cross-functional partners. • Identify risks and de
