Full Job Description
About the job Design the hardware that powers the next generation of AI systems. As a Hardware Development Engineer, you will turn complex system requirements into production-ready hardware. You will work across circuit design, validation and system bring-up for Graphcore’s AI compute platforms. You will collaborate closely with silicon, architecture and software teams to solve hard engineering problems early. Your work will directly influence system performance, reliability and manufacturability at scale. This role combines deep technical ownership with hands-on experimentation. You will design, debug and optimise advanced processor systems used to train and run demanding AI workloads. The team and culture Graphcore’s Hardware Engineering team builds production systems and validation platforms based on our IPU processors. The team works close to the technology, with fast feedback between design, firmware and system architecture. Engineers here take ownership from concept through to production support. Decisions are driven by technical insight, practical experimentation and collaboration across disciplines. You will work with experienced engineers who care deeply about solving difficult problems well. People speak up, move quickly and support each other to deliver meaningful progress. What we’re looking for Knowledge of DCDC voltage (including multi-phase) regulators, linear regulators and PCB design requirements for efficient power delivery Processor system development, as STM32, with experience in processor interfaces such as Ethernet, PCIe, DDR, FLASH, USB, I32C, QSPI, JTAG etc Experience in with high-speed SERDES Other experience required: Demonstrable experience in digital circuit development and validation Extensive practical lab experience, bringing up, debugging and validating designs Expertise in the use of high-speed digital oscilloscopes, logic analysers and signal generators Experience in scripting (Linux, Python, Bash) of tests and Excel to anal
