Ability to carry out specific instructions detailing a train’s route and specific movements, Perform switching of railcars, including coupling and uncoupling cars, and is able to lift out coupling devices, Signaling crew members for movement of the engine or train using a radio to indicate when to start, stop, back-up, set or release air brakes, Having the ability to move on and off moving or stationary equipment while the train is in motion during yard switching, Riding moving rail cars using the ladder on the side for extended amount of periods of time, Carry out other related tasks as required by operational needs or supervisor directives, excellent teamwork skills, clear communication, physically fit including the ability to pull oneself up and down from a railcar continuously, able to lift (50lbs+) and twist air hoses, secure rail car brakes, derails, and switches, proactive with the ability to take action/assess a situation with teams safety paramount, comfortable with physically demanding work in all-weather conditions
Nice to Have
previous experience as a groundsman, working within a rail team, experience in a manufacturing environment, operating heavy equipment (loaders, cranes, shuttle trains)
