Must Have
Four-year aerospace or mechanical engineering degree (or similar discipline), 5+ years of experience in a similar role, Experience with Solid modelling or plant modelling, Experience with piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), Experience with configuration control of engineering and documentation, Experience understanding fabrication and installation drawings, Knowledge of standard components, installation, and fabrication methods of piping systems, Proficient with fluid dynamics, Proficient with thermodynamics, Proficient with heat transfer principles, Proven expertise in utilizing AFT Fathom and Arrow or similar tools for advanced analysis and design of Fluid systems, Proficient in Thermal Desktop for complex thermofluid analysis, problem-solving skills, ability to provide innovative solutions to complex technical challenges
Nice to Have
Hands-on experience operating and troubleshooting mechanical and/or piping systems, Experience with creating process hazards analyses, Experience with job hazards analysis, Experience with formal risk evaluation, Knowledge of ASME B31. 3, Experience with design and operation of typical aerospace cryogenic fuels and oxidizers, Experience with design, operations, and maintenance of cryogenic systems, Knowledge of precision cleaning processes / levels, Knowledge of passivation of stainless steel, Knowledge of marine environment corrosion mitigation, Familiarity with test equipment

Full Job Description

This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. As a Cryogenic Fluids Design Engineer, you will directly contribute to building a road to space by developing the ground systems for New Glenn, our orbital launch vehicle designed for heavy-lift missions. This role is essential to the development and operation of the launch sites that will support this highly capable, next-generation vehicle. You will own the lifecycle of cryogenic fluid systems—from initial concept and analysis through to fabrication, commissioning, and operational support. This position requires deep technical expertise in fluid system design, a commitment to safety, and a passion for advancing the future of space exploration.
