Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, Physical ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds, Flexibility to work occasional weekends and holidays as needed, Obtain an LLO pesticide license within the first 90 days of employment, Unacceptable driving records include three (3) or more at-fault accidents and/or moving violations in the previous 36 months, Unacceptable driving records include two (2) or more at-fault accidents or two (2) or more moving violations in the past year, Unacceptable driving records include conviction for driving while impaired (DWl, DUl within the last five (5) years), Unacceptable driving records include conviction for death by vehicle, hit and run, racing, careless and reckless driving, implied consent in the previous five (5) years, Serious violations result in immediate disqualification and revocation of driver privileges
What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Minimum of 5 years in grounds maintenance or landscaping, At least 3 years in a supervisory role, Must possess and maintain a valid, US driver’s license, Must meet the University’s standards for approved drivers
Nice to Have
Degree in horticulture, landscape management, or related field, Relevant certifications in pesticide application and irrigation management, Valid Class C (CDL) license may be required
What You'll Do.
Supervise and mentor grounds maintenance staff
Conduct annual performance evaluations
Oversee maintenance and enhancement of landscaped areas
Participate in hands-on maintenance tasks
and maintain irrigation systems
Test and evaluate irrigation systems
Identify pests and diseases
Develop treatment plans for pest control
Order necessary landscape supplies
Manage inventory levels
Create and manage work schedules
Prioritize and assign daily activities
Maintain accurate records
Prepare reports on grounds maintenance operations
Ensure operations comply with safety regulations
Conduct safety training sessions
