What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation. Ability to communicate clearly and understand basic verbal and written directions. Ability to follow basic food assembly & packaging instructions. Ability to read and understand the English language. Basic math skills. Employees providing direct patient care must demonstrate competencies specific to the population served.
Nice to Have
Extensive customer service experience. Organizational skills. Self-motivated, independent and creative thinker. Dietary Technician certification. Related experience or education demonstrating knowledge of therapeutic diets. Functional knowledge of cash register and/or dietary software system. One year cooking experience, in a high volume establishment. Completion of AGF 110, Cul 100 at the KVCC Bronson Healthy Living Campus.
What You'll Do.
Execute assigned duties within the Food Service department, including cooking meats, vegetables, soups, sauces, gravies, and entrees using various cooking methods.
Responsible for patient room services, including menu introduction, ordering process, and explaining dietary restrictions.
Assist patients and families with meal ordering and answering the Room Service phone line.
Perform cleaning duties, operate cash register, and stock/fill items.
