Full Job Description

AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we’re looking for talented people who want to help. This role leads supply management for interconnect or EE components. The ideal candidate will deliver operational excellence with a focus on hardware demand/supply optimization. This individual must be a high-energy, high-impact individual with demonstrated ability to succeed in a dynamic business environment. Key job responsibilities 1. Commit-to-Build (CTB) & Shortage Resolution Own and drive CTB tracking for critical components; lead shortage resolution by identifying root causes, developing mitigation plans, and coordinating across multi-tier suppliers and internal stakeholders to unblock production; engage suppliers to expedite, reallocate, or pull-in supply to close gaps; validate demand signals and communicate risk exposure and recovery plans to leadership with clarity and urgency. 2. Inventory & Buffer Strategy Design and manage supply buffer strategies (safety stock, strategic inventory, VMI) to build resiliency without driving excess; define buffer targets based on lead time variability, demand volatility, and supply risk profiles; manage allocation of on-hand and in-transit inventory to highest-priority demands across VMI sites; monitor inventory health metrics (WOS and excess/obsolescence) and partner with Finance and Operations to align buffer investment with business risk tolerance and cost targets. 3. Spot Market Buy Identify and evaluate spot market opportunities to bridge supply gaps; maintain a vetted network of authorized brokers and enfor
