We work together to build a respectful and inclusive workplace that reflects our values and the community we serve The City of Merritt is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented GIS Technician / GIS Analyst to support Infrastructure operations through mapping, spatial data management, and asset analysis. This position is responsible for maintaining the municipality’s Geographic Information System (GIS), supporting infrastructure asset management, and providing mapping and spatial analysis for water, wastewater, drainage, transportation, and other municipal services. The successful candidate will work closely with Infrastructure staff, engineering, and administration to ensure accurate and accessible spatial data to support operational decision-making and long-term planning. ## Qualifications * Diploma or degree in GIS, Geography, Geomatics, or a related field. * 2–5 years of experience working with GIS systems (municipal experience preferred). * Strong working knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS platforms (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, Field Maps, etc.). * Experience managing geodatabases and spatial datasets. * Familiarity with municipal infrastructure mapping such as water, sewer, storm, and roads is an asset. * Experience with GPS data collection
