CHI is a trans-NIH initiative whose mission is to provide a collaborative resource for NIH investigators. Created in 2009, CHI is focused on combining scientific expertise, advanced technologies and tailored informatics, to better understand human immune function and pathophysiology. Systems-scale approaches are developed and used for deep profiling of immune states during disease progression or clinical interventions, such as vaccination and cancer immunotherapy with an ultimate goal to provide novel immunological insights and enable key lab discoveries to be rapidly translated into disease prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.
