Must Have
Bachelor’s degree in a biological/health science or an equivalent combination of education and experience, Minimum of 1 year commitment
Nice to Have
Experience in a clinical environment, Proficiency in Spanish, Haitian Creole, or Portuguese
What You'll Do.
Support the BUMC genetics team with referral triage
documentation preservation
patient care coordination
variant database management
administrative meeting support
and assistance in genetic testing coordination.
Support the clinical genetics team (physicians and genetic counselors) across Boston University Medical Campus for all patients and families receiving genetic services and molecular testing.
Provide administrative support of diverse aspects of the genetics service.
Triage incoming cases to appropriate divisions.
Optimize operational workflows such as prior authorization
informed consent documentation and pedigree collection.
Assist of coordination of care for complex patients as well as re-engaging patients lost to care.
Oversee a database of variants of uncertain significance for genetic testing across the institution
triaging reports to appropriate divisions and verifying critical notifications.
Attend Medical Genetics Oversight and Genetic Testing Workgroup meetings to provide administrative support.
Assist with the creation of educational and promotional materials for medical staff and patients.
Participate in performance/quality improvement projects.
Track the status of genetic testing.
