What They're Looking For.

Must Have

High School Diploma or equivalent required, At least eleven (11) years industry experience with progressively increased customer facing responsibilities, At least six (6) years experience managing people and effectively managing budgets and expense control required, Applicable state Funeral Director licensure required

Nice to Have

Technical schooling diploma Funeral Services/Mortuary Science preferred, Bachelor’s degree in Mortuary Science where required by state law, Pursuing an Associate’s Degree in Finance, Marketing, Business or related discipline strongly preferred

What You'll Do.

Provide guidance and direction to location leadership

Provide direction and assistance with short-term planning

Achieve annual sales revenue

Foster a sense of ownership and pride in staff

Manage costs in a disciplined manner

Encourage profitable case volume growth

Manage location management at multiple locations

Manage multiple lines of business within the Funeral Home industry

Work with Market Leadership to understand business goals

and approve annual business plans

Monitor and achieve annual financial goals

Transfer financial knowledge to location leadership

Approve expenditures and invoices

and customer guidance

Leverage corporate and market resources to expand brand awareness

Develop and implement plans to improve customer satisfaction

Resolve complex problems providing resolution guidance

Assure operating practices comply with regulations

and compliance standards

Collaborate with colleagues and market leadership to remove barriers

Encourage ideas and business or operational enhancements

Work with Market Leadership and Corporate Departments on needs

Develop and implement communication plans for initiatives

Oversee implementation of initiatives and manage change

Communicate long-term strategy and annual goals to location staff

Understand team members career aspirations and provide assignments

Constructively address issues and provide feedback

Develop frontline supervisors’ proactive and collaborative management style

Monitor training and licensing requirements

Screen candidates (internal and external)

Hire or promote a skilled and effective staff

recommend pay increases

and career advancements

Discipline staff as necessary

Write development plans to close behavior or skill gaps

Collaborate with Human Resources throughout processes

Recommend and discuss terminations with Market Leadership
