What They're Looking For.
Must Have
7+ years legal experience, Juris Doctor degree, Virginia or DC Bar member, Eligible to work in U.S, Maintain Secret clearance eligibility
Nice to Have
Big Law foundation, In-house tenure at high-growth startup, Experience building legal function, Command of corporate finance, Command of equity compensation, Command of governance, Deep command of defense regulations, Deep command of national security regulations, Ability to obtain security clearance

Serve as primary legal advisor
Translate regulatory landscapes
Design strategy for counsel execution
Manage outside counsel relationships
Build legal function from ground up
Hire and develop legal team
Design workflows and tools
Own risk identification and mitigation
Develop risk management framework
Architect compliance programs
Oversee contract lifecycle
Lead legal strategy for expansion
Advise Board of Directors
Lead legal execution of transactions
Manage litigation strategy
Partner on workforce legal matters
Contribute to company strategy
