The General Accounting Associate supports the Dealer Owned Warranty Company (DOWC) accounting team by preparing and maintaining monthly financial statements for a portfolio of assigned warranty companies. This role partners closely with internal teams, external warranty company owners, and investment advisors to ensure accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and timely financial insights. The position offers exposure to insurance-related accounting, investment activity, and performance reporting in a fully remote environment. ## Key Responsibilities Prepare and book monthly financial statements for assigned warranty companies, including cash transactions, accruals, and investment activity. Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including outstanding receivable and payable balances. Calculate financial ratios and net worth runoff metrics to support regulatory and financial review needs. Prepare quarterly and ad hoc financial performance and review materials for internal and external stakeholders. Act as a liaison between Protective Life, warranty company ownership, and investment advisors to support compliance with state insurance laws and regulations. Work directly with external owners to provide requested financial data and reporting. Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to enhance reporting processes and leverage technology.
