What They're Looking For.
Must Have
High School diploma or equivalent, Completion of or currently enrolled in a dual degree training program at an accredited mortuary college or technical school specializing in funeral and mortuary science as required by state/province law and as prescribed by each state board, Minimum of 6 months experience in a funeral home, crematory or cemetery, Must meet all licensing requirements in applicable state/province as required by law as prescribed by each state board, Current state/province issued driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
What You'll Do.
Provide initial details
Supervise and care for the deceased
Verify authorization for embalming
Apply makeup to deceased
Prepare cremated remains
Arrange funeral ceremonies
Conduct funeral ceremonies
Arrange memorial ceremonies
Conduct memorial ceremonies
Negotiate funeral contracts
Enter into funeral contracts
Handle legal documents
Handle collection of payment
Inform families of special recognition/services for veterans
Ensure delivery of selected recognition/services
Arrange interment of human remains
Arrange cremation of human remains
Confirm authorization to proceed with service arrangements
Supervise funeral services
Assist in funeral services
Drive funeral vehicles
Deliver personal keepsakes
Participate at special functions
Ensure adherence to professional regulations
Ensure adherence to municipal regulations
Ensure adherence to provincial/state regulations
Ensure adherence to federal regulations
Share pre-need referrals with Family Service Counselors
Prepare documents related to services
Complete documents related to services
