What They're Looking For.
Must Have
TS/SCI with agency appropriate poly, Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math, or Physics or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, Minimum 14 years of relevant experience in software engineering, modernization, or solution architecture, Experience designing, deploying, and operating workloads in AWS and/or hyper‑converged infrastructure (HCI), Proficiency in Python for backend services, automation, and tooling, Java skills for scalable, distributed services, Experience building RESTful services and modern web front‑ends using JavaScript frameworks such as React, Hands‑on experience with containers (Podman and/or Docker) and Kubernetes for deployment, scaling, and management of microservices, Experience with Hadoop and related ecosystem components in distributed data processing scenarios, Proven experience designing, building, and operating microservice based architectures (service boundaries, APIs, observability, resilience patterns)
Nice to Have
Experience with AWS Elastic MapReduce (EMR) or similar managed big‑data services for large‑scale processing, Familiarity with CI/CD tools and infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar), Familiarity with monitoring/observability stacks (e.g., CloudWatch, Prometheus, ELK), Demonstrated ability to lead small engineering teams: task breakdown, mentoring, code reviews, and setting technical direction, analytical and troubleshooting skills, with a bias toward data driven decision making and root cause analysis, Excellent verbal and written, Self motivated and comfortable working independently when needed, while also thriving in a highly collaborative, agile team environment, Experience with Two or More of the Following Data processing paradigms: Machine learning pipelines, streaming data processing, and batch processing workflows, Data stores and caching: MongoDB, ArangoDB, Redis, PostgreSQL (modeling, performance tuning, and operations in cloud environments)
What You'll Do.

Perform requirements analysis and synthesis from system level down to individual services and modules
Build and run simulations and test harnesses in development and test environments to validate behavior
Troubleshoot complex issues across application
and infrastructure profile and optimize performance in distributed systems

The BH/AV PRIME program is seeking a Full-Stack Software Engineer 2 with strong UI proficiency to join a small, high-impact development team. If you enjoy taking ideas from concept to working prototype in short, iterative cycles, and you like solving challenging problems across the stack, this role will give you the opportunity to have an outsized impact on how our organization operates. You’ll work as a hands-on engineer on a close-knit team, helping to design and build modern, scalable applications with polished, intuitive user interfaces. ***This position is eligible for a $5k bonus! (Includes 20% SEP IRA contribution)*** Due to federal contract requirements, United States Citizenship and position appropriate security clearance is required.
