Must Have
5+ years of experience as a frontend engineer, Proficiency in React, TypeScript, JavaScript, and CSS, Hands-on experience modernizing at least one server-rendered legacy stack: PHP, Ruby on Rails, or .NET, Experience with incremental modernization patterns, Demonstrated use of AI coding tools to ship production frontend code, Figma handoff experience, Backend integration experience with understanding of API decoupling requirements, Proven frontend testing proficiency, Experience with feature flagging for safe incremental UI rollout
Nice to Have
Experience across multiple products or a platform engineering team simultaneously, Accessibility awareness (WCAG compliance) especially when modernizing legacy UI, Component library experience

About the Role Togetherwork is seeking a Frontend Engineer to incrementally modernize the user interfaces of 20+ SaaS products across a polyglot stack while keeping everything running for customers. Not prototyping — replacing live, production legacy UIs. You will work from Figma designs, leverage AI coding tools to accelerate implementation, and own the full journey from design handoff to backend integration. You are expected to use AI tools as a core part of your daily workflow. What You'll Do: Legacy UI Modernization Incrementally replace server-rendered UIs with modern React components without breaking what is currently running. You understand the strangler pattern, know when to wrap versus replace, and scope modernization work into small shippable increments that are safe to deploy. Figma to Production Take Figma designs from handoff to production-ready React components using AI tools to accelerate code generation, then apply the judgment to validate, refine, and ship.
