A freight broker acts as an intermediary between shippers (companies or individuals who need to transport goods) and carriers (truckers, shipping companies, etc.). Their primary role is to facilitate the transportation of goods by connecting shippers with carriers. ## Responsibilities Connecting Shippers with Carriers: Freight brokers match shippers with carriers that can transport their goods efficiently and cost-effectively. Negotiating Rates: They negotiate rates and terms with both shippers and carriers to ensure a fair deal for both parties while maximizing profitability for themselves. Problem Solving: In case of any issues or delays during transportation, freight brokers act as intermediaries to resolve problems and ensure smooth delivery. Customer Service: They provide customer service to both shippers and carriers, addressing any concerns or questions they may have throughout the shipping process. Compliance and Regulation: Freight brokers must stay updated on transportation regulations and ensure that all shipments comply with legal requirements. ## Duties The freight broker initially establishes a business relationship with customers.
