What They're Looking For.
Must Have
High School (Grade 12) diploma, Proficiency in spoken and written English, Basic mathematical skills, Ability to prepare and mix basic recipes, Knowledge of food service equipment use and maintenance, Effective teamwork skills, Minimal supervision skills, Physical capability to meet food production targets and timelines, Satisfactory work record, Awareness of factors affecting safety
Nice to Have
Certification as a Food Service Worker (FSW), Completion and renewal of Advanced Food Handler's Certification, Previous experience in food handling, Experience in a commercial food operation, Experience in healthcare food service, Familiarity with therapeutic diets, Familiarity with typical Canadian foods, Availability to work every other weekend AM and PM, Flexibility for variable shifts, Flexibility for portering assignments, Alignment with center's core values, Commitment to patient well-being
What You'll Do.
Prepare and portion menu items
Assemble food and drinks on patient tray line
Assemble bulk supplies and deliver to patient units
and clean serving station
Sanitize kitchen equipment and surfaces
Complete special cleaning tasks
Complete meal trays by adding beverages
Record food temperatures
Deliver completed meal trays to patient bedside
Ensure accurate patient identification
Distribute water jugs and snacks
Manage food cart delivery and pickup
Participate in dishwashing through rotations
Operate and clean dishwasher and Salvajor
Ensure dishwashing area is clean
Load dish caddies with clean dishes
Return dish caddies to kitchen preparation and serving
Follow strict food safety and infection control protocols
Adhere to food safety
and infection control
Perform various tasks as Food Services Associate
Execute additional assigned duties
