U. S. citizen or national, U. S. permanent resident (i. e. current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U. S. as a refugee or granted asylum, Blue’s Standard Background Check, Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) background check if at any time the role requires one to be on a military installation, Drivers who operate Commercial Motor Vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) or combination of power unit and trailer that meets or exceeds 10, 001 lbs. and/or transports placardable amounts of hazardous materials by ground in any vehicle on a public road while in commerce, may be subject to additional Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations including: Driver Qualification Files, Medical Certification (obtained before onboarding), Road Test, Hours of Service, Drug and Alcohol Testing (CDL drivers only), vehicle inspection requirements, CDL requirements (if applicable) and hazardous materials transportation/shipping training., Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical

What They're Looking For.

Must Have

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or equivalent, 3+ years of proven experience in the design of aerospace fluid or mechanical systems, Experience in 3D CAD programs (Creo preferred), Proficiency in crafting engineering drawings with GD&T (ASME Y14.5), Experience performing flow and pressure calculations as well as structural and thermal analysis of fluid systems, Proven understand of fluid components such as valves, tubing, and pressurized hardware, Hands-on experience building and testing mechanical assemblies or pressurized components/systems, Develop and maintain interface definitions between the vehicle and subsystems, Knowledge of standard installation and fabrication methods of fluid systems (tube stock, fittings, connections, fasteners, welding, etc.)

Nice to Have

Advanced degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related engineering field, Hands-on experience building and testing mechanical assemblies or pressurized components/systems, Knowledge and experience with hypergolic systems

What You'll Do.

Helium storage and distribution within the Gas and Thrusters (G&T) team for a Lunar Permanence Vehicle

and test of the components and sub-assembly systems for the Helium sub-system

responsibility for valves

work directly on our Transfer Stage Vehicle

Fluids sub-assembly design and development

developing specification and procurement of components

designing parts and assemblies in CAD (Creo preferred)

performing trade studies

analysis of test data

Interpreting and generating Piping and instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) using AutoCAD

Design and/or create specifications for fluid/gas components i. e.

Develop and maintain interface definitions between fluid systems and other vehicle subsystems

Design and analyze custom components for fluid

and structural applications

Perform component verification of internally and externally sourced components to company standards

The position will work under a senior engineer accountable for the Helium storage and distribution within the Gas and Thrusters (G&T) team for a Lunar Permanence Vehicle. You will be responsible for design, analyses, procurement, installation, and test of the components and sub-assembly systems for the Helium sub-system. The position will be responsible for valves, bottles, filters, sensors, piping and other fluids equipment for this portion of this sub-system.
