The Brief

Eligibility Requirements

Manager on duty a minimum of three times a week which will include at least one evening shift and occasional weekends, Employees in staff positions at American University must deliver their services to the university from either the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia, or perform work on-site at the university.

What They're Looking For.

Must Have

Bachelor's degree or equivalent, 1 - 3 years of relevant experience, Current CPR/AED certified

Nice to Have

Master's degree, 2 - 4 years of relevant experience, Experience in group exercise instruction and/or administration, At least one nationally recognized and accredited group exercise certification, Good written and verbal communication skills, Demonstrated basis experience coordinating fitness/wellness programs with specific experience supporting the growth and development of group exercise and/or personal training programs in a collegiate setting

What You'll Do.

Coordinating the development

management and supervision of all fitness programs

Assisting the Associate Director with hiring

supervision and evaluation of group exercise instructors and personal trainers

Instructing/leading exercise classes/programs as needed

Manager on duty duties

Managing the day-to-day operations of the fitness center

Financial transactions

Member sales and service

Oversight of all health and fitness programs

Administrative work to include reviewing and updating training procedures and manuals

Participating in the development of programs

departmental objectives
