The Lyft Urban Solutions (LUS) Firmware Test Engineer role is key in the development and delivery of Lyft’s micromobility hardware offerings, including electric bikes, scooters, batteries, stations, and more! We are looking for a Firmware Test Engineer who brings exceptional technical skills to contribute in NPI (New Product Introduction) and fleet sustainability programs that unlock value for the cities across the globe that use our products. Firmware Test Engineers at Lyft collaborate closely with firmware, hardware, operations, and product teams, necessitating strong technical expertise, leadership, and communication skills. They are proactive problem solvers who drive initiatives forward, ensuring the successful delivery of key results that significantly impact the business. Responsibilities: Design and execute comprehensive manual and automated test plans to validate the functionality, performance, and reliability of bike share system firmware. Collaborate closely with firmware engineers to thoroughly understand firmware design and implementation, facilitating comprehensive testing. Work with product, hardware, and operations teams to ensure firmware meets all system-level requirements. Manage firmware deployments to bikes and docks, including planning, scheduling, and execution. Experience Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in firmware testing, preferably in the embedded systems domain. Strong understanding of testing methodologies and best practices. Experience with testing embedded systems, including hardware and software interactions. Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for test automation. Experience with communication protocols (e.g., CAN, UART, I2C, SPI). Excellent analytical and problem-solving
