What They're Looking For.
Must Have
3–5+ years of experience in Fire alarm and life safety systems, 3–5+ years of experience in Low voltage systems (access control, intrusion, or related), 3–5+ years of experience in troubleshooting and technical diagnostic skills, Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and specifications, Working knowledge of test equipment (multimeter, analyzers, etc. ), communication and customer service skills, Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record, Ability to perform physical tasks (lifting 50–70 lbs, climbing ladders, working in confined spaces), Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and on-call rotation, Ability to follow safety procedures and company guidelines
Nice to Have
NICET Level II certification (or actively pursuing), Technical training or certification in electronics or fire systems, Experience with CCTV, IP networks, and integrated security systems, Prior experience with system programming and commissioning
What You'll Do.
Respond to service calls and diagnose issues with fire alarm and life safety systems
Perform troubleshooting
Service and maintain systems from multiple manufacturers (including SimplexGrinnell)
Read and interpret blueprints
and technical documentation
Communicate professionally with customers to identify issues and provide solutions
Complete service documentation using mobile devices and customer systems
Participate in on-call rotation and respond to after-hours service needs as required
Maintain inventory and ensure readiness of tools and equipment
Identify system improvements and recommend upgrades or solutions (upselling opportunities)
and collaborate with team members when needed
