Fire Protection Engineer **The Opportunity:** As a Fire Protection Engineer, you’ll serve as a subject matter expert on fire protection and life safety issues affecting government facilities. You’ll review design and other technical documents for construction activities and operations to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards. You’ll identify optimal fire protection solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. You’ll conduct inspections of construction to validate compliance of fire protection and life safety aspects. **What You’ll Work On:** * Review planning, programming, architectural, and engineering design documents and other technical documents for proposed construction activities. * Review and conduct comprehensive fire safety audits, inspections, and investigations of company operations to ensure compliance with fire protections codes and standards. * Conduct inspections of new construction and renovations to validate compliance of fire protection and life safety aspects. * Witness acceptance testing and commissioning of fire protection systems and equipment to validate functional compliance. * Assist with corporate fire protection governance and policy, standard operating procedures, and facility design standards. * Attend professional meetings within the government to benchmark how industry and other government agencies are addressing similar issues. * Prepare internal briefings, fact sheets, newsletter articles, and other communications of fire protection and life safety topics and support data collection and metrics development. * Contribute to the company records and knowledge management activities.
