**Financial Leadership Partner (CFO Level Consultant) - The Herring Group Remote (TX, GA· ~ Hourly 30 -35 hrs./week during business hours)** **Most people will not read this thoroughly or will think it is too good to be true.** **What we believe** **The Herring Group is a professional services and data analytics firm. We work with owners of landscape companies who have built something real and want to keep it — without being crushed by it.** **We optimize two margins, not one.** * **Profit margin. We put our clients on a disciplined Path to 12% profitability. Most landscape businesses run at 3–7%. The solution is not a mystery; it is a system. We build the system.** * **Life margin. If the owner cannot take a three-week vacation without the business wobbling, we have not done our job. Profit that requires the owner's presence to operate is not profit — it is a salary with extra steps.** **These margins are not separate goals. They reinforce each other. A business that cannot give its owner a life cannot give its employees one either, and neither carries 12% for long.** **Autonomy and accountability. We help our clients build teams that think, decide, and own outcomes.** **What you would actually do** * **Hold a portfolio of SMB clients (companies with $3M–$50M in revenue) as their outsourced financial leader. Own the models, forecasts, dashboards, and KPIs that leadership actually uses — not the ones that live in a forgotten folder. Help owners and management teams every month translate numbers into decisions.** * **Push them on pricing they have been afraid to raise, labor efficiency they have been afraid to measure, and margin they did not know was leaking.** * **Help us get sharper, too.
