It’s an exciting journey, and we’re only just getting started.   We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Financial Controller to join our Finance team at Octopus Energy Services!   This role will report to the CFO and play a crucial role in the day-to-day financial operations of the company. This role will entail preparation of financial reports, month-end processes, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards. You will be working closely with the business to assist with day-to-day finance management and identifying any commercial risks or opportunities to improve the business’ position. You’ll be central to key financial decisions and will need to be ready to work quickly, pragmatically and comfortable with our fast paced environment.       ## What you'll do Prepare monthly divisional and consolidated management accounts, liaising with finance representatives to finalise results, reporting on variances as required and providing commercial insight Own the annual audit process, acting as the primary point of contact for external auditors, and preparing statutory accounts in accordance with IFRS Ensure that reporting is compliant with all relevant accounting standards and keeping up to date with new reporting standards that may impact the company Act as the first point of contact for technical accounting and financial reporting Perform balance sheet and inter-company reconciliations to ensure integrity of the general ledger and financial records Reviewing monthly VAT return
