Must Have
5 or more years of experience in accounting, finance, research administration or related field, Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
Nice to Have
Experience with Harvard financial and grant management systems, Familiarity with Uniform Guidance and federal sponsored research regulations, Prior experience in a higher education or academic research administration environment
What You'll Do.
Process financial transactions for accounts payable
Process purchasing card transactions
Process reimbursements
Process journal entries
Review travel and Corporate Card charges
Ensure service center expenses are allocated
Manage open commitments reports
Process and issue invoices for chargebacks
Process and issue invoices for service center fees
Participate in monthly reconciliation processes
Problem-solve reimbursements for non-employees
Resolve vendor management issues
Provide travel and conference-related support
Update and maintain prepayment schedules
Prepare and post quarterly prepayment journals
Initiate personnel costing change request documents
Provide pre-award administration support for fellowship applications
Provide post-award administration support for fellowship applications
Prepare fellowship application submissions
Setup fellowship awards
Monitor fellowship awards
Provide monthly projections for fellowship awards
Communicate fellowship award status
Manage sponsored research grants
interpret and act on University policies
Ensure appropriate business purpose descriptions
Ensure correct Chart of Accounts use
Ensure proper approval authorization
Ensure compliance with Uniform Guidance
Ensure compliance with financial accounting requirements
Ensure appropriate documentation to support transactions
