What You'll Do.
Provide departmental administration and sections heads with detailed
Prepare financial analysis of departmental units and accounts
Supervise Finance Coordinator and other personnel
Oversee a group of clerical employees
Monitor expenditures on numerous large grants and departmental
Perform day-to-day budget management of assigned funds
Prepare regular reports and analyses on financial status
Determine departmental fiscal requirements
Prepare budgetary recommendations
Review reports from the Controller's Office for accuracy
Resolve any discrepancies or problems
Maintain liaison with all levels of administration
Coordinate departmental business
Accomplish directives
Facilitate the resolution of problems
Establish accurate financial projections by examining past and
Determine if adequate funds are available
Review financial information with faculty investigators and/or departmental
Implement distribution changes as appropriate
Develop drafts of budgets for submission of grants
Review completed grant applications for accuracy and completeness
Serve as a departmental liaison for grant and
Establish a thorough understanding of Medical School and
Avoid inappropriate expenditures
Provide sections with necessary information to complete merit
Review merit increases for accuracy and sufficient funds
Establish and maintain financial databases and files
Process personnel change requests
Process personnel requisitions
Process purchase requisitions
Process accounts payable
Process other grant-related expenses
Perform other related duties incidental to the work
