Full Job Description
## Accountabilities Conduct expert clinical reviews of interventional cardiology cases, including procedures such as catheterizations, coronary interventions, and implantable cardiac devices, ensuring alignment with medical necessity criteria and evidence-based guidelines. Participate in peer-to-peer discussions with treating physicians to support appropriate care decisions and ensure high-quality, value-based outcomes. Provide clinical rationale for appeals, utilization reviews, and coverage determinations in both standard and expedited cases. Collaborate with internal clinical teams, medical directors, and reviewers to ensure consistency in decision-making and adherence to regulatory and organizational standards. Serve as a subject matter expert, supporting training, guidance, and quality improvement efforts within the utilization management process. Requirements This role requires a board-certified physician with strong expertise in cardiology and interventional cardiology, combined with experience in clinical practice and medical decision-making. Candidates must demonstrate strong communication skills, sound clinical judgment, and the ability to apply evidence-based guidelines in utilization review settings. MD, DO, or MBBS degree with active, unrestricted medical license in the United States and eligibility for multi-state licensure as required. Board certification in Interventional Cardiology, or Board Certification in Cardiology with documented interventional cardiology experience or prior certification. Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in cardiology, preferably with hands-on interventional practice. Strong understanding of cardiovascular procedures, clinical guidelines, and evidence-based medicine. Excellent communication skills with the ability to conduct peer-to-peer clinical discussions effectively. Ability to work independently in a remote, structured, and compliance-driven environment.
