What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent, Minimum 5 years development engineering or applications support of microprocessor based embedded systems, Field Application Engineering experience in the semiconductor industry, Experience with C and C++, Experience developing embedded firmware, Demonstrated knowledge of typical SoC hardware interfaces (Ethernet, MIPI, SDIO, LP DDR4/5, Quad/Octal SPI, USB2. 0/3. 0, UART, SPI, I2C), Knowledge of ARM Cortex A, M and R based architectures, Knowledge of register programming models, Experience using Real-Time OS systems, Ability to read, understand and review schematics, Provide design recommendations, Willing to travel up to 30% within continental US, Experienced in providing technical training to sales staff and distributors, Proven track record of quickly learning new technologies
Nice to Have
QNX, FreeRTOS and Zephyr preferred, Knowledge in embedded Linux a plus: kernel and user-space and uboot environments, Hands on knowledge of graphics and video subsystems and related software drivers helpful, Knowledge of Edge AI applications deployment is beneficial, Familiarity with CNNs, LLMs, VLMs, Agentic AI a plus
