What You'll Do.

Oversight of patient management from registration to database validation

Safeguard patients through the diabetic eye screening programme

Escalate concerns or omissions to DESP managers

Perform ongoing data audits and list validations

Provide telephone support for patients regarding appointments

and cancel appointments

Validate and cleanse the single collated list

Ensure all patients are accounted for and regularly audited

Liaise with stakeholders involved with patient care

Ensure patients are in the correct pathway

Liaise with Hospital Eye Services

Ensure patients receive initial appointment within NDESP criteria

Ensure patients return to DESP care on discharge

(Ending end of April 2027) The Failsafe Officer quality assurance processes are responsible for the oversight of patient management from front-end registration to ensuring adequate database validation and cleansing. Failsafe is essential to safe guard Diabetic Eye Screening Programme patients as they move through the complex diabetic eye screening programme care pathway, escalating concerns or omissions to local DESP managers in accordance with policies and procedures. This will be achieved by ongoing data audits, list validations and liaising with multiple stakeholders, following the policies and procedures and regularly audit for compliance. * Provide telephone support for patients regarding their appointments. Booking, rearrangement and cancellation of appointments in accordance with programme requirements * Validation and cleansing of the single collated list * Have oversight of the patient cohort to ensure all patients are accounted for and regularly audited (including but not limited to: opted out; medically unfit; not diabetic; pregnant). This will include liaising with stakeholders involved with patient care, for example: GPs, practice nurses and administrative teams, Diabetologists, Obstetricians and Paediatricians * Liaise with key stakeholders to ensure that all patients are in the correct pathway, supported by systematic auditing and tracking * Liaise with Hospital Eye Services to ensure patients referred, receive an initial appointment within NDESP criteria and track their status ensuring they return to the care of the DESP on discharge from the hospital eye services. ## Qualifications * Excellent IT skills and a working understanding of Microsoft Office software. Excellent organisational and administrative skills * Microsoft Excel experience and basic data management * Ability to work under own initiative
