Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Current Illinois Licensure as Registered Nurse, Completion of state-approved Train-the-Trainer and Evaluator Workshop course with approval as Basic Nurse Assistant instructor in Illinois. Or completion of this course within one year of hire. Approval must remain current., American Heart Association BLS Provider CPR instructor (or obtain within 6 months), Experience teaching in a Basic Nurse Assistant Training Program, Certification in Phlebotomy and EKG (or obtain through NHA within 6 months), Ability to work days, evenings, and weekends, Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other members of the college and community, displaying cultural competence as well as emotional intelligence, Demonstrated commitment to the college’s core values of respect and inclusion, sustainability, integrity, collaboration, humor and well-being, innovation and quality
Nice to Have
Master’s Degree in Nursing, Teaching experience at the collegiate level, Experience at the community college level, Three plus (3+) years’ experience teaching in a BNAT program, Experience in teaching and online and/or using course management programs, Experience in course development and assessment, planning, quality, and accreditation processes, and committee engagement, Experience with traditional and non-traditional students from diverse backgrounds, English and Spanish verbal and written communication proficiency, Demonstrated multicultural competence
What You'll Do.
Coordinate the Patient Care Technician Certification Program
Teach classes in the PCT program appropriate to the candidate’s qualifications
Work closely with other instructors and special programs and services within the college to determine placements
Participate in course development
and planning activities
Seek clinical opportunities for EKG and Phlebotomy students with a programmatic growth mindset
Keep informed of current trends in the field of nursing and long-term care
Teach classes in the Basic Nurse Assistant Training Program
Be willing to teach online and/or blended courses
as well as CPR classes
Participate in appropriate departmental meetings
recruitment activities
Assist students with academic tutoring
Meet other contractual obligations as spelled out in the Joliet Junior College faculty contract
Teach classes during non-traditional times (evenings and weekends) and at other clinical and campus sites as needed
Perform other duties as assigned

**Position Title:** Faculty, PCT Certificate Coordinator **Job Description:** POSITION TITLE: Faculty, PCT Certificate Coordinator STATUS: Full-time Tenure Track DEPARTMENT: Health Services DIVISION: Academic Affairs CLASSIFICATION: Exempt UNION: Faculty-AFT Local 604 REPORTS TO: Department Chair & Dean PLACEMENT: Placement on the salary schedule is dependent on qualifications HIRING RANGE: Base Compensation Hiring Range for 2026/2027 Academic Year: $63,770-$113,632/annually (9 months).
