Login to your McGill Workday account and apply to this posting using the Find Jobs report (type Find Jobs in the search bar).** **Job description:** Reporting to the Associate Director, Student Affairs, and based in OASIS (Office of Advising and Student Information Services), the Faculty Student Advisor provides guidance and support to a diverse student population, by responding to their academic needs, facilitating the pursuit of their educational goals and ensuring that they make the most of their University experience. The incumbent delivers and supports the delivery of advising and student affairs services for the Faculty of Arts, in situations where there are a variety of practices and precedents. They develop and implement procedures and/or controls to enhance the Faculty’s operations and provide input regarding the unit's goals and objectives. **Primary Responsibilities:** * Provide academic guidance and advice to students for the Faulty of Arts. * Provide individual and group advising to undergraduate students on a variety of academic and student affairs issues. Analyze problems, determine course of action, and provide advice and/or referrals as needed. * Process academic appeals and more complex/exceptional cases by preparing files and background information for senior leadership’s consideration. * Authorize academic course selection of advisees as they work towards the completion of their degree and program(s).
