The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) provides direct support, supervision, and therapeutic assistance to individuals receiving behavioral health services in facility-based, crisis, or residential treatment settings. The BHT plays a critical role in maintaining safety, supporting stabilization, monitoring behaviors, implementing treatment interventions, and promoting the emotional and physical well-being of each individual served. This position supports a trauma-informed, person-centered environment and ensures that care is delivered with dignity, respect, and cultural humility. **DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:** **Direct Support and Patient Care** * Provides direct patient care to individuals with psychiatric or co-occurring disorders, ensuring safety and well-being at all times. * Follows the plan of care, including observation levels, safety checks, and supervision. * Assists individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as hygiene, meals, mobility, and personal care, while promoting autonomy. * Monitors and documents behavior, mood, affect, sleep, intake/output, and participation in programming. * Supports individuals experiencing crisis using de-escalation, grounding, redirection, and therapeutic engagement techniques. * Responds appropriately to behavioral or medical emergencies and all facility codes. **Therapeutic Environment and Program Support** * Helps maintain a structured, safe, and therapeutic environment within the unit or crisis setting. * Leads or co-facilitates skills groups, recreational activities, psychoeducational sessions, and coping-skills practice as assigned
