What They're Looking For.
Must Have
background in structural steel fabrication, including welding and layout, Experience working with CNC equipment and fabrication machinery, Knowledge of production processes, safety standards, and quality control practices, Ability to work effectively within a team-driven environment, Solid communication and organizational skills, Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as required, High school diploma or equivalent
Nice to Have
Prior leadership or supervisory experience in a fabrication or manufacturing setting, Technical training, certification, or associate degree in a related field, Familiarity with AISC standards and steel fabrication workflows
What You'll Do.
Supervising shop personnel
Supporting production goals
Ensuring quality and safety standards are consistently met
Support execution of daily production plans
ensure fabrication deadlines are met
Oversee second-shift shop operations
Assign and reallocate tasks to maximize efficiency and output
Monitor production flow and make real-time adjustments
Provide technical support in layout
and blueprint interpretation
Troubleshoot fabrication issues and guide team members through solutions
Reinforce workplace safety standards and operational expectations
Mentor team members and contribute to skill development
Partner with quality teams to ensure work meets AISC requirements
and organized shop environment
Support ongoing improvements in safety practices and product quality
Coordinate with maintenance personnel to minimize downtime
Track equipment performance and escalate issues
Assist with onboarding
and performance evaluations
Support time tracking
and disciplinary actions
Participate in recruitment efforts for fabrication staff
Contribute to overall shop operations and continuous improvement initiatives
