Additional on call requirements above and beyond regular scheduled hours. Weekends and Holidays also required. Work which produces high levels of mental/visual fatigue, e. g., interactive and repetitive or small detailed work requiring alertness and concentration for sustained periods of time, the operation of and full attention to a personal computer or CRT between 40 and 70 percent of the time. Involves regularly lifting of bulky or moderately heavy weights (i. e., up to 50 pounds), and occasionally assisting with heavier tasks or expending the equivalent effort in pushing, pulling, or otherwise handling material, equipment, and other objects.
What They're Looking For.
Must Have
An Associates degree from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology and registered ARRT or graduate of an associate or baccalaureate academic program in health science and obtain Certification as Registered Cardiology Invasive Specialist (RCIS) required within 2 years of hire. Registration and in good standing for the State of Michigan license in the appropriate discipline. BLS certification within six months of hire. ACLS certification required within 1 year of job training. Basic PC computer skills to operate the database and office programs used in the can be acquired after hire.
Nice to Have
Training in Cardiac Invasive Technology, assisting in diagnostic and interventional procedures and/or 1 year of cardiac clinical training and experience in the hospital or elsewhere preferred.
What You'll Do.
Assists the physician in the performance of all cardiovascular related procedures in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (CVSL); operates all equipment, both radiographic and scrubs for interventional scrubs and circulates for all diagnostic cases.
Prepares and calibrates equipment for procedure to be performed.
Responsible for assisting the physician with invasive cardiology procedures, such as diagnostic and interventional (PTCA, stent) heart catheterizations, electrophysiology studies, intra-aortic balloon pump insertion, pacemaker and ICD insertion, etc., as scrub or recorder.
Completely and accurately documents enters and records pertinent laboratory values, pressure waveforms and ECGs physical assessments and other pertinent information into logs and the computer and processes related paperwork.
Manages images for review by the physician and for the permanent record.
Operate and maintains all equipment and instruments properly and with care and performs maintenance and quality control work as appropriate.
