Must Have
Demonstrated expertise in safe animal restraint techniques and low-stress handling methods, Proficiency in collecting and analyzing various laboratory samples, Experience with radiographic positioning and diagnostic imaging procedures, Competency in anesthesia administration and surgical monitoring, client communication and medical record management skills, Comprehensive knowledge of veterinary procedures, preventative care, and hospital operations, Excellent organizational and time management abilities, Physical stamina and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to animal-related hazards, including bites, scratches, animal waste, and potentially contagious diseases, Ability to withstand unpleasant odors and noises, Consistent punctuality and reliability in adherence to scheduled shifts, Flexibility to work weekday shifts as needed, problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively with veterinarians and team members, Resilience and stress management capabilities in high-pressure situations, Unwavering commitment to professional ethics, animal welfare, and continuous learning, Inclusive and empathetic approach to patient and client care
Nice to Have
Minimum 2+ years of professional veterinary technician experience, Previous emergency room or urgent care experience, Active Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license or equivalent state certification
What You'll Do.
Perform animal restraint using safe and low-stress techniques while maintaining composure in dynamic situations
Conduct triage of incoming patients and assess their medical needs with attention to detail
and analyze laboratory samples
Assist with diagnostic imaging procedures
including radiographic and ultrasound positioning and image capture
Prepare surgical sites and provide skilled assistance during surgical procedures
Administer anesthesia and monitor patients throughout anesthetic procedures with precision
Administer medications as prescribed and maintain accurate medical records
Provide compassionate nursing care for medical and hospitalized patients with varying degrees of stability
Communicate treatment plans and medical updates to clients in a clear and empathetic manner
Maintain comprehensive knowledge of veterinary procedures
