What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Minimum Fifteen years of experience with design in the fire alarm industry, Independently perform Design-Build, Code Compliant Fire Alarm Design functions for Highly Technical Industrial facilities and/or complexes, Demonstrated knowledge of Government / Provincial Fire Alarm Code Requirements, Demonstrated technical aptitude, Advanced computer skills required, Advanced Communication and Organizational skills
Nice to Have
Certification/Membership with Canada Fire Alarm Association (CFAA)

Create fire alarm system designs
Create submittal packages
Provide detailed information and submittals
Organize and plan workload
Direct workload of other design team members
Facilitate reviews of initial designs
Coordinate with other design team members
Prepare detailed technical submissions
Prepare detailed schematics and drawings
Oversee CAD Support Technicians
Complete detailed calculations
Verify system design meets code
Maximize project load
Oversee multiple CAD Support Technicians
Participate in design meetings
Attend customer/site coordination meetings
Develop bill of materials
Examine completed submission
Contribute project support
Review equipment application
Research outside purchases
Ensure equipment compatibility
