Full Job Description
VCA Brookline Animal is seeking an experienced client service representative to join our well established hospital and team. We are a six doctor, fast paced general medicine practice. We are located in the heart of Brookline, a mile from downtown Boston. The successful candidate will be a believer in the possibilities of high quality veterinary medicine, patient care, and customer service. Applicant must be a reliable self-starter, motivated by a challenging, fast-paced environment, have a positive attitude, a friendly demeanor towards both animals and people, will be detail oriented, have the ability to multi-task and can demonstrate the importance and understanding of high quality customer service. Skills and Qualifications * Excellent knowledge of veterinary client service; at least 2 years of experience in the veterinary field. * Strong organizational skills. * Strong client relations and interpersonal skills. * Intermediate to expert computer skills. * Excellent oral and written communication skills. * Self-starter and team player. * The ability to integrate new information into problem-solving * High School Diploma/GED or equivalent * The ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and be exposed to hazards associated with pets such as allergies, contagious diseases, noises, odors, bites, scratches, and animal waste. * Compassion for pets and people—as well as awareness and understanding of others’ reactions * Scheduling flexibility to include days, nights, weekends and holidays ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Customer service functions, including: greeting visitors, answering telephones, and guiding clients and their pets to exam rooms • Scheduling and confirming appointments • Placing outbound calls for follow-ups and reaching out to prospective clients • Presenting and explaining fees, including processing payments • Answering questions regarding products and services, including educating clients on general animal husbandry and non-medical pet care (i.e., heartworm prevention, ho
