What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Master’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Facilities, Construction Management or Engineering Technology, 10 years’ related work experience, 7 years’ of which must have been in a supervisory capacity, Broad knowledge of HVAC, mechanical and electrical repair and systems, utilities, and total building systems associated with the healthcare or higher education industry

**Job Description Summary** The Executive Director of Facilities Engineering and Maintenance reports to the Enterprise Chief Facilities Officer with a matrixed (dotted line) relationship to the Chief Operating Officer of the Medical University Health Authority (MUHA) Charleston Division. The Executive Director provides comprehensive leadership and operational oversight for all facilities management functions within the designated MUHA Charleston Region which includes all Charleston campus hospital, ambulatory surgical, specialty, free standing emergency department (ED), and primary care sites; the Nexton Hospital campus, the Orangeburg Regional Medical Center, its free-standing Emergency Department, and associated facilities exceeding 5.1M sq ft of buildings, 100+ direct maintenance and auxiliary staff, and annual operating budgets in excess of $63M. This role assumes leadership responsibility for effective daily operations, staff management, budgeting, training, and compliance for Charleston regional facilities ensuring alignment with MUSC’s strategic objectives.
