Must Have
Hands-on experience in designing and commissioning automated mechanical systems
Nice to Have
Background in mechanical engineering or equipment design, Licensed mechanical engineer, Proficiency in designing mechanical components and automation mechanisms, Experience with robotics integration, including robot programming, end-effector design, and safety systems, Experience with vision systems, image processing, and camera-based inspection technology, Expertise in safety system design, including risk assessment, functional safety, and safety controller programming, Experience with mechanical reliability tools or statistical process control (SPC), Knowledge of industrial communication protocols, such as EtherNet/IP, Modbus, OPC UA, Experience with SQL—specifically MS-SQL—and the ability to navigate, create, and optimize databases for historical data storage and data analysis, Familiarity with electrical systems and control panel design, such as wiring diagrams, sensors, actuators, and power distribution, Capability to perform root-cause analysis using structured methods such as 5-Why, FMEA, or fishbone analysis, Project management skills, including requirement definition, scheduling, and cross-functional communication

**Job Title:** Equipment Engineer **Job Description:** **The Role:** * Design, procure, implement, and validate advanced automation and capital equipment to unlock * Develop new automated equipment by coordinating its design, purchase, or construction, ensuring manufacturability, reliability, and lifecycle cost efficiency. * Establish and deploy globally standardized equipment platforms across sites to ensure consistent performance, simplified maintenance, shared spares, and accelerated technology. * Enable production expansion at each site by driving the development and introduction of capacity‑scaling equipment—shortening ramp‑up time, de‑risking launches, and aligning with demand plans. * The following recent projects reflect ongoing initiatives in MTD-CoE and the associated resource requirements: * NOVA/BCP Project * YNZ EX/PGME Expansion project * YNZ WEC Capacity Expansion project * YNZ Future Expansion project New equipment development for new products (Both WEC and Photo) **In this role you will:** **Key Responsibilities** * Automation & Equipment Development * Design, procure, implement, and validate advanced automation systems and capital equipment to enhance operational efficiency and manufacturing scalability. * Develop new automated equipment by coordinating its design, fabrication, and qualification, ensuring manufacturability, reliability, safety, and total lifecycle cost effectiveness. * Drive the introduction of capacity‑scaling equipment to support production expansion—reducing ramp‑up time, mitigating risks, and ensuring alignment with global demand plans. * Identify, lead, and support continuous improvement initiatives and new equipment/process projects by developing detailed specifications, electrical drawings, implementation plans, and other required documentation. * Evaluate existing processes and introduce new automation, tooling, or process‑improvement methods to enhance product flow, improve quality, increase first‑pass yield, and reduce co
