Mathews, Virginia **Overview** The Environmental Aide performs proper housekeeping and cleaning that meets state requirements, regulatory agency requirements, facility regulatory requirements, RHS Infection Control standards, and Environmental Services policies and procedures. Ensures a neat, clean and safe work environment is maintained. Ensures adequate supplies for cleaning and assists team members with moving equipment, cleaning and beds. **What you will do** * Cleans all assigned areas, including but not limited to resident areas, bathrooms, corridors, public areas, elevators and ancillary areas such as nurses’ stations, laboratories, lounges, locker rooms, etc. by means not limited to sweeping, washing, mopping, dusting, disinfecting and sanitizing. * Uses the correct cleaners for the intended task and labels/stores chemicals safely and properly. * Restocks supplies and cleans carts daily in order to maintain a smooth flow of operations. Areas of responsibility are stocked with paper goods, soaps, chemicals and reusable goods as applicable. Demonstrates the ability to terminally clean and keep the assigned area clean in accordance with RHS policies. * Responds to requests from customers in a positive and timely manner, measured by numbers of complaints and/or compliments registered from residents and an increase in resident satisfaction scores. Conveys residents’ concerns to the appropriate departments (e.g. Maintenance, Nursing, Dietary etc. ), or the front desk to bring about a successful resolution of the concern in the quickest, safest manner. * Responsible for assuring safe practices as referenced in the National Patient Safety Goals and in accordance with RHS policies and procedures. Performs all cleaning duties in a timely, safe, and thorough manner in compliance with Infection Control Standards.
