This is an Engineering Technician III position in the Division 2 Greenville Resident Engineer’s office serving as a lead project inspector supporting engineers in the daily contract administration of construction projects. The position will be responsible for monitoring project work and material to ensure conformance to specifications and contractual provisions. In this position, you will supervise and assist in training lower-level technicians, which includes Department employees as well as Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) staff. This position will also be responsible for addressing project staffing needs. You will be expected to perform and/or review project documentation including the work performed by other technicians to ensure that all material sampling and testing, project documentation, and project estimates are done correctly. Duties of this position also include resolving daily constructability issues and ensuring that traffic control and contractors’ operations are performed in accordance with the plans and standard drawings. Other duties include monitoring contractor progress to ensure timely completion of the projects and monitoring contractor compliance with subcontractors and DBE and Title VI Compliance.
