This position is in Buncombe County, in the Weaverville Resident Engineer’s Office. This is an Engineering Technician II position that supports higher level technicians and engineers in functional areas such as construction inspection, surveying, material sampling and testing, and construction traffic control. Position requires the performance of standardized and non-standardized tests and assignments in compiling, analyzing, computing, editing, and processing field data. Employee may supervise lower-level technicians and CEI personnel and help in coordination of work assignments. Work functions may include highway construction surveying and layout. Employee must be proficient in record keeping. Employee must be able to obtain and maintain certifications required to perform material sampling and testing. Work may include other duties and responsibilities as assigned. May be required to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended hours as necessary.
