Exposure to high traffic volumes, Work at heights over water or traffic, Climb on bridge substructure and superstructure, Work occasional nights and weekends, Work snow/ice events, Safety-toed shoes required, Successful completion of NCDOT post offer employment evaluation
What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Close visual acuity to use testing instruments, Ability to read plan details, Ability to make accurate field measurements, Ability to inspect roadway and structure components, Ability to safely perform manual tasks involving the bush axe and other tools on steep and rough terrain, Ability to carry testing equipment over rough and steep terrain, Ability to lift and carry at least 50 pounds, Ability to safely work high above ground, Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle, Proficiency in record keeping, Proficiency in engineering testing equipment
Nice to Have
Valid driver's license, Knowledge and understanding of general concepts, practices, and theories used in construction, construction inspection, and/or construction surveying, Knowledge and skill in the use of computer equipment, iPad and software, Experience maintaining standard daily records and reports, Experience working in a team environment to complete assignments, Knowledge of standards and specifications, Plan reading experience
