Role: Engineering Team Leader Career Step Level: Step level 3.0 Hours: A shift rotation with a mixture of days / nights and some weekend working. The working shifts days consisting of 6am to 6pm and nights consisting of 6pm-6am. Location: Blyth, Worksop 📣A bit about the role This is a great opportunity to join Butternut at an important point for the engineering function in Blyth, Worksop. As Engineering Team Leader, you’ll lead the full Engineering shift, supporting engineers through the day-to-day reality of a busy production environment while helping create a more connected, resilient and high-performing team. You’ll sit within the site engineering team and play a key role in bridging engineering with wider operations. It’s an exciting time to join because the team is evolving, and this role offers real scope to bring strong leadership, technical credibility and a fresh perspective that helps shape how the function grows. A bit more detail In this role, you can expect to… Lead and support a team of engineers on shift, setting the tone for performance, accountability and engagement in a fast-paced environment. Drive strong cross-functional working with operations and other site teams, building effective relationships and helping create better alignment across the business. Provide hands-on technical leadership during day-to-day engineering activity, including responding to challenges and supporting the team through operational issues. Coach and manage people effectively, holding regular conversations, giving feedback and helping individuals develop their capability over time. Help bring structure and maturity to the function by identifying opportunities to improve ways of working and embedding practical processes that support the team.
