Summary Are you a Mobile Engineer who enjoys leading small teams, staying hands-on in the code, and helping build products and teams from the ground up? As an Engineering Team Lead at Topstep, you’ll lead a growing team responsible for building and evolving our mobile trading platform using React Native. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll spend roughly 50% of your time coding while also supporting, mentoring, and coordinating a team of mobile engineers. You’ll help drive delivery for our mobile applications, establish strong engineering practices, and collaborate closely with product, design, and other engineering teams to create exceptional mobile experiences for traders. Initially, you’ll manage a team of four engineers, with the opportunity to help scale the mobile organization as mobile becomes an increasingly strategic investment for the company. This role is ideal for someone who is transitioning from senior engineer to engineering leadership, or an early-career manager who still loves building software and wants to grow their people leadership experience alongside a fast-moving product team. Key Responsibilities Lead and support a team of mobile engineers building React Native applications across iOS and Android. Remain deeply hands-on in development, contributing directly to architecture, implementation, code reviews, debugging, and releases. Partner with product, design, and other engineering teams to deliver high-quality mobile experiences aligned with business priorities. Help establish scalable mobile engineering practices including component patterns, testing strategies, release processes, and code quality standards. Own delivery execution for the mobile team, balancing speed, quality, and technical sustainability. Coach and mentor engineers through regular feedback, career development conversations, and technical guidance. Support hiring efforts and help grow the mobile engineering organization over time.
