What They're Looking For.

Must Have

Four-year college degree or equivalent, two years of progressively responsible purchasing, production expediting, production planning, and/or materials management experience in a manufacturing environment working with MRP systems, Extensive knowledge of BOMs, working knowledge of engineering planning tools, basic Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in written form, organizational and interpersonal skills, Able to prioritize, delegate, complete multiple tasks, and work under deadlines, SAP experience

Nice to Have

Aras (CM/PLM tool) and SAP experience (SAP is strongly preferred)

What You'll Do.

Management of assigned commodities for various projects and products

Create material demand for prototype/LRIP product builds

Ensure parts and/or materials are available for Engineering to perform the work

Kit all the materials for prototype builds

Coordinate with production planning and suppliers when necessary

Prepare and authorize purchase requisitions

Evaluate purchase requisitions for materials and services of a technical or specialized nature and confers with departments regarding requirements

and manages P-Card purchases

Follows-up and expedites IRAD orders as required

Creates and tracks metrics for material schedules

Evaluate MRP reports and analyze impact of changes to engineering schedule

Interpret drawing tree structures and build order relationships

Coordinate with Engineering

Product Line Management

and Purchasing on engineering changes and priority changes which may impact outsourcing vendors and engineering schedules for prototypes and product transition

Accountable for the accurate purchase of material based on the Engineering requirements

Communicate to Purchasing all major project changes of the Bills of Materials (BOM) and follow through to closure for prototypes and product transition

Extensive contact and interface with all areas of the business: Engineering, Purchasing, Operations, Quality, Configuration Management, Delivery Management, and Program Management; Coordinate with production planning and suppliers when necessary; confer with departments regarding requirements, specifications, quantity, quality, and delivery dates; Coordinate with Engineering, Program Management, Product Line Management, and Purchasing on engineering changes and priority changes
