What They're Looking For.
Must Have
8-12 years of overall experience in software engineering, 1-3 years of formal leadership/management experience, Proven track record of successful, on-time SaaS delivery within an Agile/Scrum environment, Experience with cloud technologies, Experience with scalable systems, Experience with architectural design, Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field (equivalent practical work experience may be substituted)

Engineering Manager (vintrace) Your Impact at Encompass Encompass is seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Engineering Manager to lead our cross-functional development teams for vintrace, our industry-leading wine production software designed for future-forward producers. In this role, you will balance full people management responsibilities with strategic technical oversight. You will take ownership of leading our developers, QA engineers, and tech leads, providing technical guidance while actively nurturing individual career growth. This role requires excellent project delivery and resource management skills to balance feature development with support resolutions and technical debt. The ideal candidate will be passionate about engineering performance, team dynamics, and modern development practices. You will collaborate closely with product teams to scope innovative initiatives, ensuring timely product releases, high-quality standards, and alignment with modern AI-enabled tooling. Additionally, you will represent the engineering perspective in cross-functional meetings, department planning, and stakeholder discussions.
