What They're Looking For.
Must Have
8+ years of experience in platform engineering, infrastructure, backend systems, or security, 4+ years managing and developing engineering teams at high-growth SaaS companies, experience leading across multiple technical domains or managing managers, Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure, identity and authentication systems, security engineering, and observability, knowledge of compliance frameworks like SOC 2 and ISO 27001, Demonstrated track record delivering complex infrastructure migrations, security initiatives, and platform improvements while maintaining reliability, Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex infrastructure and security concepts for product teams and leadership
Nice to Have
Background in security engineering, Experience with identity platforms (AWS Cognito, WorkOS, Auth0, Okta), Track record of successful large-scale infrastructure migrations

ABOUT THE ROLE You'll lead Gamma's Platform organization as we scale to serve hundreds of millions of users. This means overseeing the critical systems that power everything: infrastructure, security, identity, and the foundational platforms that enable product teams to move fast while maintaining world-class reliability and performance. You'll manage a team of 15–20 engineers across multiple domains, balancing technical vision with people leadership. You'll own the technical roadmap for systems that serve millions daily, establish operational excellence practices including incident response and observability, and champion security-first thinking across the engineering organization. You'll partner with product engineering and leadership to balance competing priorities across scaling, security, and developer experience, all while building and mentoring a team that can sustain Gamma's growth. Our team has a strong in-office culture and works in person 4–5 days per week in San Francisco. We love working together to stay creative and connected, with flexibility to work from home when focus matters most.
