What They're Looking For.

Must Have

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng. ) in Ontario, 10+ years of experience in Electrical, Instrumentation, and Control Design, 3-5 years of experience leading engineering scopes and technical teams on complex projects, Working knowledge of CSA, IEC, IEEE, and suites of standards pertaining to Instrumentation, Proficiency in control system platforms (e. g. DCS, PLC, SCADA), Knowledge of instrumentation for safety systems and control/process system

Nice to Have

5+ years nuclear and/or CANDU technology experience, Experience working in multidisciplinary engineering environments with significant interfaces across licensing, safety analysis, mechanical, and process control disciplines, Knowledge of CANDU reactor design, including Nuclear Steam Plant (NSP) and Balance of Plant (BOP) experience with safety systems, heat transport, containment, moderator, and plant control systems, Proven ability to mentor and develop engineers and designers

What You'll Do.

Execution and technical leadership of engineering services

Manage a team of approximately 25 people

Accountable for technical delivery and quality

Provide technical direction and oversight

Ensure engineering activities are planned and executed

Coordinate design interface between NSP and BOP

and manage technical issues and risks

Review and approve engineering documents and drawings

Assign and prioritize work

Set and manage team priorities

Establish and promote a working culture

Provide performance feedback

Support Director in defining engineering scope

Support technical integration across disciplines

Identify emerging technical demands and capability gaps

Develop and maintain technical relationships with clients

and standard practices

Identify opportunities for innovation

How You'll Work.

Team & Collaboration

Works closely with Director of Engineering Services, Project Managers and Project Directors; Works with Engineering Excellence Management; Works with Engineering Managers from other mandates; Works with external clients and stakeholders; Collaborate with Engineering Services, Engineering Excellence, and other project mandates; Develop and maintain technical relationships with client side counterparts

Process & Methodology

Manage engineering scopes and technical teams on complex projects, Set and manage team priorities, Align engineering objectives with overall project goals
